As the oldest firm in Eastern Kentucky, Porter, Banks, Baldwin & Shaw, PLLC has represented numerous public and private corporate entities, insurance companies, coal, oil and gas interests, utilities, railways, medical providers, counties, municipalities, and school districts for over one hundred years. As coal and the railroad grew so did the firm. From the early days our clientele read like a who’s who in eastern Kentucky business with representative clients which included Columbia Gas Transmission Corp, Northeast Coal Company, Consolidation Coal Company, Ashland Oil and Transportation and Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Company, to name a few.

Today, Porter, Banks, Baldwin & Shaw, PLLC has expanded its practice, establishing a Lexington office, covering the entirety of the state. Our firm has maintained its core practice since the late 1800s, continuing to represent insurance companies, corporate entities, counties, municipalities, medical providers, and school districts in civil litigation, administrative hearings and corporate governance before all federal and state courts and agencies. Our offices in Paintsville have remained in the same location since the firm’s move to its “new” location in 1916.
